International Admission South Asian Grad/Undergrad Info DS-160

Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

    Dear Student,

If you are serious about studying at Roosevelt University and applying for an F-1 student visa, this Zoom session is highly recommended for you.

Many students prepare only for the visa interview.  In fact, the visa officer reviews your DS-160 first, and this already influences the decision.

URGENT: Important Update for Fall 2026

Due to recent visa concerns and shifting student decisions, enrollment from India is currently down across many U.S. universities.

    This means:

    • Fewer Indian students are applying

    • Less competition within the Indian applicant pool

    • More appointment availability and visibility for serious candidates

For students who plan early and prepare correctly, Fall 2026 can be a strategic opportunity, not a disadvantage.

However, this opportunity only helps students who:

    • Prepare their DS-160 carefully

    • Present a clear, consistent study plan

    • Demonstrate genuine academic intent

WHAT WE WILL COVER IN THIS SESSION

    • Why the DS-160 is the most important part of your F-1 visa
    • How visa officers review your DS-160 before meeting you
    • Common DS-160 mistakes made by South Asian students
    • How inconsistencies (program, funding, sponsor, gaps) lead to 214(b) denial
    • How to prepare a strong DS-160 aligned with your I-20
    • What Roosevelt University expects from students who are serious about enrollment

    WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This session is ONLY for students who:

    1. Have applied or plan to apply to Roosevelt University
    2. Intend to study at Roosevelt University in the U.S. for Fall 2026
    3. Are preparing for or planning an F-1 visa interview
    4. Understand that proper DS-160 preparation is critical

If you are casually exploring options or not committed to Roosevelt University, this session may not be useful for you.  We are not a transfer university.
